Skip Your Regular Mechanic, They Really Know Their Stuff! I would definitely recommend Mr. Transmission. If you have transmission issues, I'd say avoid taking it to your regular mechanic and just take it to these guys. They took out my transmission and rebuilt it and since then I've had no problems with car. Their knowledge of how to take out a transmission, rebuild it, and put it all back together was impressive. I was very satisfied. I'm a courier and rely on the car, so I really appreciated the service. I was in the area one day and my starter had gone out. I called them up and even though it was Saturday and he only happened to be in for an hour that day to pick up somebody's car, what he did was call a tow truck for me and have my car towed to their garage. When they opened on Monday he took care of the car right away. I was really happy with that. The tow service they contracted was nice too, which I really appreciated cause I didn't have a towing service at the time myself. It was a good price and everything. As far as the prices at Mr. Transmission, I would say they are competitive. For every car it's a different kind of transmission so you can't really do comparison shopping, but thinking about how much work it would be to do it myself and the quality of the parts they use I would say it was a good price. They are one heck of a group of guys, they really know their stuff.
